Apply by Oct. 1: Earn College Credit Through Dual Enrollment Programs

Students can get a head start by earning college credit while still in high school through two Wisconsin dual enrollment programs: the Early College Credit Program (ECCP) and Start College Now (SCN).

The application window for spring 2027 courses is open Sept. 1–Oct. 1, 2026. Students may apply to both programs, but can enroll in only one program each term. New course requests must be submitted for every term a student plans to participate. Apply Now!

  • Early College Credit Program (ECCP): Allows high school students the opportunity to take college courses at Wisconsin public (University of Wisconsin) and private universities. Legislation states that students in grades 9-12 can participate; however, UW-Madison and many others admit only 11th and 12th graders.
  • Start College Now (SCN): Allows high school students the opportunity to take college courses at Wisconsin Technical Colleges. This is available for 11th and 12th grade students.

A few important reminders:

  • Students must use their MMSD ClassLink username and password to log in. Parent Infinite Campus login information will not work.
  • Application deadlines are set by state law and cannot be extended.
  • Save the confirmation email you receive after submitting your requests. This serves as proof that your application was submitted by the deadline.
  • If you have trouble logging in, submitting requests or receiving a confirmation email, contact earlycollege@madison.k12.wi.us before Oct. 1.
